Let's talk Honey!

I am an allergy suffer.  Every Spring, Summer, Fall... every time the weather changes... I have to deal with a runny nose, sore throat... and most recently... an ear ache.  I have taken so many over the counter meds for my allergies that I now know what brand affects me ... so I can stay away from them.

When we recently moved, I was suffering more than the usual. I was told time and time again to try locally farmed honey.  I was told that it would help relieve my allergy symptoms.  I had never heard of it before, but hey.. what's it going to hurt.

I went to a local gas/ grocery store and pick up some honey farmed right there in town.  Let me tell you, I am not (or was not) a fan of honey.  I remember when I was a child my mother giving my honey and lemon juice to drink when I had a cold... I hated the stuff! LOL...   I began taking one tablespoon in the morning and one in the evening.  This locally grown honey is very sweet, and very taste... so I had no problems getting it down.  After a few days, I realized that I was no longer suffering the runny nose and sinus drainage.

I have found out that there are some great benefits to consuming honey.

  • Honey is a natural energy booster.   Who knew that taking honey could give you that boost of energy you so needed.

  • Honey is a great immunity builder.  I found that if you take in locally farmed honey, it will help you build immunities to those allergens  that bother you.

So, If you have allergies.. try honey.  I never thought it would help... but  I can say...I was wrong!
